Access: Head north out of Ratho and take track W after church. Head W 800m, then S 100m to trig point, then E 100m


Plan of site Site description
A single standing stone at the edge of the trees, 3-4m SE of summit of Platt Hill. The stone is 1m high and roughly rectangular in plan, the longer sides being not quite parallel. Longer sides are 0.6m, shorter sides are 0.35m.

The orientation of the westerly face is 330°G, and the easterly is 337°G. The westerly face is aligned towards Huly Hill at Newbridge, passing to the west side of the site.

There is a second stone nearby (1-2m to SE) which is recumbent and has a rectangular shape. It is oriented E-W, and is 1.25m long, 0.35m wide.

Surveyor's Notes
The grid reference is from an averaged GPS reading taken from the top of the standing stone.

Notes for visitors
There is no footpath after leaving the track to approach the trig point. Fence to cross, short uphill climb.
